Bond St. Cigar Corner
December 2006
Welcome to our first Newsletter, we will periodically post a letter as interesting facts and products become available for your interest. We will in most cases focus on new product changes and market trends for consumers as well as your retail tobacconist. We will also go out to the market place to get comments and recommendations from the cigar community.
My name is Joe Bondi and I will bring to you thirty years of cigar experience going back to when I was with MacDonald Tobacco and sold brands such as Tureros, Muriels, Elproducto and Simon Statesman.
Our recent discovery, thanks to Robert Peirce a long associate in the U.S., has been the Grand Habano. I have not received such a response from any cigar launching since I helped launch the Cohiba Siglo series with Tom Hinds. We have only placed Grand Habano in a few stores but the response has been overwhelming to the point were supply might be an issue.
Grand Habano has a very dark Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and rich Costa Rican and Nicaraguan filler. This cigar reminds me of the Cuban Limited Edition products with great flavors from a full bodied cigar. The Rothschild and Robusto will retail around the ten dollar mark, the Pyramid will be slightly higher, thirteen to fifteen dollars. But the real sleeper is the Imperial, a 6 inch by sixty ring that delivers a huge Amount of flavor but stays smooth with no harshness all the way through to the end.
If you are a cigar enthusiast and would like to be a part of a testing panel for new products please email Joe Bondi. His email is, jbondi@bondelecigar.com. Let’s get to know you, let us know your favorite cigar and favorite place to smoke.
Have a great Christmas season, Happy New Year and check your humidor and cigars often especially in the winter months.
Best regards,
